Weekend Workshop

Hi welcome to my first blog on my new website. If you haven't visited this site yet I hope that you like the new look and I am quite excited because I hope to fill this site with lots of new work, interactive blogs, and learning videos. Eventually my dream is to be able to develop a library of video learning tools. This to me is very thrilling but there's a lot of work ahead. The outlook is for 2023-2024.

At the moment I want to refresh and update regarding the upcoming workshop. It takes place April 24th and 25th. My doors with be open at 9:45am until 3:45pm on Sunday. Monday Evening doors will be open at 6:00 for questions and practice. We will start at 6:30 and end at 10:00pm Monday. The outline for the course is as follows:

Watercolour Landscapes:

9:45 Doors open for set up and questions

10:30 start with handouts and "Components of a good painting."

- How I plan a painting

- 1st painting begins with a drawing demo

- students do their drawing

Then we have a section on colour theory "Colour Basics"

This is probably when we will break for lunch ** You will need to bring a lunch. I will provide tea, coffee and bubbly's to drink.

after lunch

- I refer to the painting "Cheat Sheet"

- I begin stage 1 of the painting demo

- students paint step 1

- step 2 demo- students paint and so on.

Day 2

Monday evening: review of the notes from day 1

- Continuation of yesterday's painting or start a new painting.

- Voluntary Critique.

You will find my original work on the Sunshine Coast at Fresh From the Coast in Sechelt and at Groundwaves West in Madeira Park both these shops also have prints and so does Artworks Gallery and Framing also in Sechelt.
